Over the past few years in Boston, we’ve seen a number of rising talents take the spotlight and put on for the city, but few have done it in a way as unique and special as Pistola. Crafting numerous cult classics in the city as well as turning heads all over the world with songs like “P.I.S.T.O.L.A.” and “Swang” (which eventually received the remix treatment alongside DRAM), Stola has managed to make some serious waves in his career, and today, he is sure to keep this going. While we haven’t heard from the rising star in a minute, he’s back and better than ever with a brand new song, “Coupes N’ Boof”.
Produced by Donald Grunge (who has been killing it on the boards as of late, by the way), this offering makes its presence known as an absolute banger right off the bat, featuring one of the hardest beats that I’ve heard all year long. The bass clashes with Stola’s galvanizing deliveries in a way that yields nothing but energy, and the lyrics are kept simple so that this song can easily live up to its full potential and shut down venues, one after another. “Coupes N’ Boof” is as hard as it gets, letting us all know that Pistola is picking up right where he left off.

One of the main criticisms of the Massachusetts music scene right now is that instead of coming together and collaborating, artists see everything as a competition and are hesitant to embrace the sense of “community” that people are looking for. Regardless of your thoughts on the criticism, it’s always refreshing to see this concept of collaboration come to fruition, and today, this is perfectly exemplified with Connis’ brand new song, “Tall Model B*tch”. Bringing together the names of Maka, FAbzabove, Gogo, and Donald Grunge, this one represents a special moment for Massachusetts, and rightfully so, the music follows up with a high level of quality to match.
Produced by the hitmaker himself, Maka, “Tall Model B*tch”`finds its energy within an endless supply of playful flows as well an electric melody. The beat is simplistic, but by matching the hard-hitting bass with lyrical acrobatics from every single artist on the song, it comes through as immensely powerful. There doesn’t exist one unimpressive verse on “Tall Model B*tch”, and with every single artist going as hard as they possibly can, it goes without saying that Connis’ latest is going to do serious numbers — plus, you can pretty much already tell that this track performed live might just shut down a venue on any given night.
That said, listen at the link below and embrace the sight of so many Mass-based artists coming together on one song!

As I’m sure all of our readers remember, Graduation Music favorite Donald Grunge took over the summer this year with his unbelievable single, “Guitar Grunge” (which remains one of the best songs out of MA this year, in my opinion). Ever since the song’s release, it seems as though Grunge has been cooped up in the studio on a creative high, and today, we receive a manifestation of this with his brand new, self-produced offering, “Worth It”. While noted to be a freestyle on Twitter, this song clearly shows that the Massachusetts talent is making some of the best music of his career, and for that, we couldn’t be more thankful.
That said, Donald Grunge has always been the kind of artist who is able to lock into a certain creative space when he needs to. As shown in his latest, he locks into this space with passionate deliveries, offering impulsive lyricism and bellowing vocal runs that truly bring to fruition the full range of talent that we know and love him for. Grunge gets lost in the beat and for lack of a better word, is absolutely on fire for all of this song’s 3-minute duration.
I could go on about this one all day, but by the excitement of my words, you should check out “Worth It” for yourself. Click play at the link below and keep an eye out for more from Donald Grunge hopefully arriving in the near future!

Banding together to form one of the most exciting, creative groups out of Boston in recent memory, NSFW is dead set on making their presence known as artists. The wide scope of talents and ideas that they bring to the table is unlike any other, and consequently, these rising talents are on a fast track to great notoriety with their infectious wave of ingenuity. Today, we see these attributes on full display with the group’s latest release — a brand new single entitled “NSFW In Order”.
Featuring RAMS, Donald Grunge, and Fat P, this offering acts as a loud proclamation of prowess from the group. They use a thunderous, slightly chaotic background of production courtesy of Maka in order to fully communicate this shared, galvanizing energy, and in doing so, “NSFW In Order” comes across as an absolute banger. It builds walls just to break them down, demonstrates immense power, and most impactfully, does so in a charismatic fashion that any listener can latch onto. NSFW is ready to take the top, so be sure to keep an eye out for them in the future and listen to their latest single at the link below!

Here at Graduation Music, we’ve been longtime fans of the ever-infectious, hard-hitting sounds of none other than Fabz Above. His talents range over a variety of different energies and stylistic ventures, but what will always remain an integral part of Fabz’ artistry is his ability to garner energy with ease. And at that, he never fails to entertain. Today, Fabz Above shows off these skills alongside Donald Grunge and Splash Got’Em with a brand new single entitled “Hennnnny Sippa”.
Produced by Maka, — who is quickly becoming the go-to producer for some of Boston’s most promising young talents — this track starts right off the bat with an ample supply of animated deliveries. The truth is, “Hennnnny Sippa” doesn’t hold any boring points throughout its 2-minute and 45-second glory, and only adding fuel to the fire are some unforgettable features from Grunge and Splash. This trio, backed by Maka, can do no wrong, and “Hennnnny Sippa” is just proof of this undeniable chemistry that they hold together. Boston has a bright future on its hands.

Donald Grunge and Maka: two artists who have earned their statuses as front-runners in Massachusetts rap due to ample supplies of high-quality music and even more importantly, undying consistency. There exists a certain art to being authentic and never compromising one’s personality, and both Grunge and Maka seem to have it down to a science. That being said, in a collaboration that I didn’t see coming but am more than willing to embrace, this highly-talented duo is here to bless the world with a new single entitled “Guitar Grunge”.
The last time we heard this joining of forces was on the summer-minded offering, “Shade“. Both artists have seen immense growth since the release of their last collaborative effort, and “Guitar Grunge” shows just how much they have been able to hone in on their skills in the meantime. Fans hear energetic, almost sporadic displays of pure bliss and passion from Grunge, only to be complemented by the gorgeous, sun-soaked instrumental from Maka, as the two work off of one another’s skills with an unrivaled chemistry. Adding fuel to the fire, a hard-hitting drum pattern reinforces the bubbling melodies, and all in all, we receive a candidate for song of the summer from the two Graduation Music favorites.
That being said, show some love and click play on “Guitar Grunge” at the link below!

Donald Grunge is, for lack of a better word, a captivating artist. His music is hard to box into any sort of simple category, and in such a way, there’s something about Grunge’s sound that feels just a few steps ahead of the pack. Sonically, the melodic approach that he brings to the table is nothing short of impressive, but not until he delivers his passionate vocals and raw, emotion-filled lyrics is the impact of his music fully shown. Today, we see all of this on display in Grunge’s latest offering, “Keep on Goin”.
Fueled by the allure of hard-nosed drum patterns and a synth-led melody, this track finds Donald Grunge in a place of great ambition and triumph. The two themes coexist in a manner that seems to say, “I’ve made it this far, now it’s time to bring it up a level”, which is perfectly reflected with the line, “Always knew I was a star“. This promising young talent isn’t going to settle for anything less than the top, and rightfully so. He feels like the chosen one, so there’s no point in letting up the full-court pressure during his inevitable ascent as an artist.
