Providence is home to an abundance of relatively undiscovered gems right now, and within its extensive scene of talented acts lies an absolute star in the making: LILDEATHSTAR. With only two songs on SoundCloud at the moment, this young hitmaker might only be in the beginning stages of his career, but nevertheless, he is showing an unrivaled amount of potential and matured artistry within his first few offerings. Today, DeathStar makes his Graduation Music debut with the soul-searching song, “Sad Nights”.
Set to the tone of booming bass kicks and mesmerizing, sharp melodies, this track is a call for hope with a fast-moving lifestyle, in essence. The RI native skillfully delivers line after line of brutally honest reflections on the way he feels, and by letting every line strike the core of the listener while unapologetically letting its emotions loose, there is no shortage of authenticity on this one. DeathStar is taking his pain and translating it directly into art that others can relate to – a skill that, when carefully executed, can result in some truly impactful and important music. “Sad Nights” most certainly reaches this status.
