After releasing what was one of 2017’s most entertaining projects with SPED: The Sequel, Cambridge native, Millyz, showed the country that he’s ready to put on for his city in a way that refuses to be ignored. His unforgiving image and keen ear for potential hits have consistently kept listeners on the edge of their seats, and ever since I discovered him last year, I must say that this theme has rung true with every subsequent release since. Keeping this full court press up, Millyz back on our pages today with the JMP-directed visuals for “Kung Fu” – the third track off of his most recent album and one of Graduation Music’s favorites.
Produced by Aries, this song’s energetic beat and unapologetic charisma exhibit some of Millyz defining skills from his ability to craft memorable hooks to his relentless lyricism and aggressive deliveries. Having said that, the visuals for “Kung Fu” enhance these elements to a point where each and every bar is able to reach its full potential under the fitting imagery and flex-filled scenery. JMP was undoubtedly the perfect director to get the job done on this one, and with the way that his unique style interacts with Millyz’ endless array of ominous lyricism, the music video for “Kung Fu” is a hell of a way to start off the new year on a high note.
