Throughout 2017, Boston artist Maka has developed quite a rapport with his city as one of the premier talents in the local scene by way of contagious singles and wonderfully illustrative, often times tropical projects (see Another Island). Today, enhancing this unstoppable wave with a new twist, the rising talent is back on our pages with a new single titled “Top 5 (Ed Hardy Riddim)” – a loose release dense with eccentric sounds and infectious energy that you simply need to hear.
Lending his extensive array of flows to this hard-hitting single, Maka achieves a seamless pairing of exotic production and catchy deliveries in this track, creating an overall unique, yet cultivating atmosphere. It may be experimental compared to some of his other material so far, but the Boston talent definitely came through with a dope release to top the year off on. With that being said, be sure to give “Top 5” a listen below and keep an eye on Maka’s growing versatility as we watch his successes pile up in 2018.
