Leano season is officially here and it’s feeling more powerful than ever. Releasing standout tracks “Broke” and “Bowls” throughout these past few weeks, the mayor of Boston is back today with a new single from his forthcoming mixtape Packula titled “Talk Show”. Fraught with well-documented charisma and intricate flows, it revolves around the hustler mentality that Big Leano proudly wears along with an unexpected yet utterly important reference to Ricki Lake. The wordplay is on another level, as well, with illustrative bars about the life that the rising talent lives, money-minded as it gets.
But “Talk Show” wouldn’t be the track that it is without the magnificent production from WAV Company’s own Twayne The Kidd. The first comparison that comes to mind when I think of the sound that the single brings across is the cover art for the tape (pictured above). In short, it makes perfect sense with the vision that Leano has developed so well, and I couldn’t think of a better visual representation to describe the dynamic production from one of Boston’s hidden gems. Overall, this is an incredibly-well packaged single to prepare fans for Packula coming October 16th, and one that will surely help Leano’s stock to keep rising. Listen to “Talk Show” below.
P.S. – We need to appreciate this cover art. Shoutout to Derrick Houston (@BlvckDerrick) for snapping.
