Known for his wide array of wavy flows and smooth vocals, Maye Star is here to stay with his newest track “Boss City Promise” produced by Sevnth. Not only does the swaying production match his versatile delivery, but it matches the lyrics, too, emphasizing the range of topics that Star speaks on and acting as a look-around track of sorts. As for the title “Boss City Promise”, the Boston native explained it with this:
“Boss City Promise” is me renaming the city. Boss City because our city has a bunch of heard/unheard young talent. A bunch of young bosses. Bean Town old & played. It’s a new era, a new age. And I’m starting it with this track.
The visuals for the track push this message to another level, featuring Star at different points around Boston and Roxbury, dancing to his song with plenty of other young bosses and showing the sense of unity that he’s striving for. “Boss City Promise” is my favorite track from the quickly-rising artist as of yet, and I highly recommend that everyone checks this out and gets on the “Boss City” wave. Maye Star is one of many young talents in Boston, and he’s ready to help push the city to the top.
