Boogie Da God is one of the most fundamentally sound rappers in this Boston scene right now, often taking it back to the basics with his 90s-influenced music and nostalgic bars. He never fails to hit listeners with raw emotion and lines that will have you looking directly from the Roxbury artist’s eyes, only a few of the many reasons his music always seems to sit right with me. One of the best releases from Boogie as of yet has been his Snotty Nose Kid EP, a collection of five songs that solidify all of the previously mentioned skills as fact. And now he revisits the EP with visuals for the jazzy cut “I’m Hungry” directed by FlicsNShit.
The music video is filled with familiar faces from this site including Plad Fine$$e, Vintage Lee, Brandon James, etc. – a proud look at the Roxbury artists that help make up the exciting new scene, and representation of the loyal traits that Boogie embodies. The song, fueled by its soulful saxophone and dwindling keys over the dusty percussion, is one of my favorites from him, and I’m happy to say that the visuals followed up right along with it.
