Haasan Barclay, back in Boston, is here to teach everyone a lesson about being loyal and unconditional love. His newest offering by the name of “Live For You” is a simplistic mix of melodic background vocals and laid back, repetitive guitar chords, coming together to form an atmospheric, smooth listen. Lyrically he stays on point the entire time, stuck on the theme of this undying love and reinforcing it with different phrases and stories through his passionate delivery. Barclay puts quite a few of his talents on display with this track, and it just might be one of my favorite releases from him.
Managed by his wife and fellow creative, Liv Slaughter, “Live For You” could be looked at as an ode to her, demonstrating the love of the couple and further inspiring Barclay’s lyrics that make him seem like he’s daydreaming – a fitting state to be in considering the subject matter. Listen to “Live For You” below and be sure to check out the cover art – a dope piece of art that could stand well on its own even if you didn’t include the title or parental advisory sticker.
