Allston’s Dad Jeans is here with a new music video for the song “Tendencies”. Directed by Liv Slaughter and edited by Haasan Barclay, the visuals incorporate some of their favorite techniques including varying colors that emphasize the feel of the song. The lyrics of the track detail the tendencies of Dad Jeans to stay home and chill out while the anonymous “she” seems to be doing the exact opposite, going out with friends and having fun. Despite their differences, Dad Jeans loves the girl, yet he can’t change his habits very easily. The video suggests that this from-a-distance love makes him happy, while the lyrics seem to realize that it is just a crush for the time being, and the pair may not be meant to be together. This contrast demonstrated between dreams and reality for Dad Jeans makes the visuals and the song a great pairing, offering an interesting look at both sides of a crush: the reality of it all including the differences between two people, and the dreamer side of it all that sees them together in a different universe. You can watch the video below, and be sure to keep track of Dad Jeans’ future releases.
