Dorchester’s VALLEY is here with his new video for “Landed” (directed by Reko) after spending years behind the scenes, waiting for his time to come. The drugged-out anthem features slow, deep vocals that carefully ride the line between passionate and effortless in delivery, creating a vibe in a way that not many artists are completely capable of. What amazes me most about the song, though, is the visuals. The highly saturated colors and sharp contrast within scenes that go hand in hand with the vibe of the song make this video an early candidate for visuals of the year. And the song/video dropped on January 1st. It reminds me of the colors in “B.O.B” by Outkast, yet VALLEY provides a unique spin on his with the blurred scenes and bobble head effect that further push the hazy feel of the song. I believe that if he can keep up this quality of work with both music and visuals, VALLEY will be one of the most anticipated artists out of the Boston area come the end of the year. I’m very excited for what’s to come.
